  Michael Childers was awarded the prestigious Crystal Lens Award for Lifetime Achievement in Hollywood photography, by the Palm Springs International Film Festival. This award was given at Spencer's restaurant and was presented by Harold Matzner, chairman of the festival; by the executive director of the festival, Darryl MacDonald, and by Peter Bart, the editor of Variety.

  Michael Childers received Distinguished Photographer Award at ART HAMPTONS Festival in Bridgehampton, N.Y. It was presented by the festival director,Richard Friedman and Harold Matzner, president elect of the Palm Springs Art Museum. There was also a display of forty well known black and white images from "Icons and Legends....THE PHOTOGRAPHY OF MICHAEL CHILDERS."
